How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
When I got my first transfer, I spent it on my daughter illness because it was my priority at that time. Through that transfer, she got treated and recovered from her illness. I am grateful to GiveDirectly for rescuing her life. Housing has been my major problem. I live with my family in my aunty house. I have been wishing to build my own house, but I couldn't raise the money with all the family burdens that I have. When I got my second money, I bought four bundles of zinc to construct my own house. When I got my third transfer, I developed a new goal by adding additional money to my transfer to buy a new motorbike. This motorbike is being used on traffic to generate money for me to build my house. It will continuously generate money for my family support. GiveDirectly has given me a life time establishment.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly is an exceptional NGO because every process of GiveDirectly program is free and fair. There is no third party involve in interacting with me. I am allow to spend my money the way it will benefit my family. GiveDirectly staff are respectful. I think GiveDirectly is doing everything well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my most recent transfer on buying motorbike. It has been my plan to build my own house because I live in my aunty house, but I have not been having permanent source of income. I bought zinc with my second transfer. With my third transfer, I thought it wise to buy a motorbike that will continuously generate money for me. Since I bought the motorbike, I now earn not less than 4000LRD daily. By next month, I will start my building project. GiveDirectly has done extremely well for my family. I really appreciate GiveDirectly for this transfer.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I currently live in a two bed room apartment with my wife and my three children. Due to low finances, we've been managing here for some times. Eventhough, because of limited space it has become very uncomfortable to have a proper rest particularly at night after a long day of hard work. Hence, with GiveDirectly mobile money transfer, I've decided to build a new and bigger house containing four(4) bedrooms and two(2) bathrooms. My new goal of moving into a bigger house will provide comfort and freedom for me and my entire family. I'm so pleased about this initiative.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
From my own school of thought, GiveDirectly has been very honest and open in selecting who should benefit from this program. By giving us (poor people) cash directly to help improve our lives without expecting to get anything in return is rare and beyond imagination. I personally do not see anything that GiveDirectly doesn't do well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I've always wanted to build a big and comfortable house that would accommodate me and my wife along with our three(3) beautiful children. For this reason, I bought two(2) bundles of zinc for $240.00usd ($33,600LD). I also used portion of the money to purchase few packs of nails and the balance was used on transportation.
