How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Presently, I cannot do much work as I can get to pay someone to do some work for me. Before I would wake up so early and do some before going to attend my shop. This would strain me a lot. Now I can get to pay for labour with the money which I earn from GiveDirectly.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My next goal is to plant some fooder feeds. In our area, when dry season sets in the whole area gets dry and the animals are affected by this. To gap on food shortage which we usually experience during the dry season. These will guarantee me continues milk production throughout the year.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In the last four months, I have been able to accomplish my plan which I had in mind which is owning a cow. Through the transfers which I received from Give Directly, I get empowered to work much more to provide for my family. we use to buy milk and so it was good for us to buy our own cow. I had saved part of the money through a merry-go-round and this enabled me to buy a dairy cow. Since I bought it, I have been a really busy man. Every morning before I go to work at a nearby centre I got to feed the cow and doing so is fulfilling as in my culture when you got a cow you are considered a hardworking and responsible person.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect to diversify my farming and start poultry farming so that I can earn money through the sale of eggs. chicken needs a smaller space for rearing and little capital to start. Having this would enable me to earn more money to cater to my family needs and pay school fees for my children.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I normally save the profits that I get from my ongoing business. I usually try to avoid spending it on my personal needs because it won't help me grow in any way. I always ensure I have saved enough money every month with an intention to use the money to expand my business. I can always get other avenues to settle my family's daily needs therefore as tempting as it may be I always manage to save a good percentage of the profits from this business
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have any new goal at the moment. I am still saving through a Merry-go-round that I joined recently. My turn has not reached yet, therefore, I will continue contributing my monthly income in order to help my group members to also reach the goals they had set. Meanwhile, I am still figuring out what I will do with my savings. I am still sampling these business ideas in order to know which one will suit me.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The greatest difference in my life is that I am now peaceful in life. I used part of this transfer to buy a cow and a few chickens because I want to start poultry farming. This business picked up very well. Initially, when I only had one business, I would use all the profit I get from my business because my needs were more than the profits I made. My life is better now, I know that my daily needs are taken care of as I get to sell milk.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect to have planted some fodder crops for my livestock in the next six months. I intend to do so that it can enhance milk production from my cows. Apart from that, I am also planning to do paddocking grazing. This possible now because I now have the resources to divide my farm to the correct sizes. This will also help improve my agricultural produce because I will be alternating the cows and farm activities on the paddocks I have created.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
The ability to save and pay school for my son is what I feel is the change in my life. Mobilization of resources to majorly pay school fees especially in our locality is quite a daunting job. I am so grateful to God that He thought of bringing Givedirectly to us because right now I do not know how and where I would have gotten the money to support my child in school. I was also able to improve my small business with the transfers.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My goal for the next few months is to pay all the school fees for my son who recently joined secondary school.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that we have now consistently have enough and good food for us. Before, one had to really work hard especially doing manual labor in order to make enough money to buy food and other household items. I am so happy that I don't need to overwork myself now because the transfer from Givedirectly got my back.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to to improve my small retail business. I have been running the business for a while now and I really hope that my business will grow. This business will be a source of extra income to us as a family and it will ensure that we improve our lifestyle and standard of living.

I intend to do farming in the near future. This is my new goal. I plan to plant maize for sale so as to have an additional source of income because maize has a good market in our area. So I will never lack funds for meeting the needs of my family since I am the breadwinner.

I expect less hardship in terms of provision for my family. The burden will be lighter for me. Our lives as a family will have really improved because I intend to actualize all the plans that I have using the transfers that I will receive.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am now able to borrow a loan so as to buy livestock. This has been my wish. I will then use my GD transfer to repay it because I've just received the first transfer. I will have a source of income from sale of milk and the daily expenditure of buying milk will not be there too.
