Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference is that I started a retail shop that earns daily income. I feel independent and capable of taking care of the family needs. Long before the cash transfers, I was miserable and desperate for a miracle.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received money at night and when I read the message I was overwhelmed with joy. I remember failing to sleep afterwards because I was thinking of what to do next with the cash transfer.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 1000000 to start up a retail shop and I spent UGX 700000 to hire two pieces of farm land.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving the money means adding stock to my business. The business will be generating daily income that will be offsetting daily problems. I will also buy some cows that will act as an income generating activity for my hoisehold in order to cater for future contigencies of my family. The stock I have currently is small and it can not sustain my family needs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is around 10:00 when I have come back from the garden. I will have completed a hard day's work and now embarking on attending to my business.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Inadequate funds is the main challenge for my household due to lack of a reliable source. I only rely on my business for survival and yo a small extent farming on rented farm land while my spouse is concentrating on farming at home.
