Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I received my money From GiveDirectly I was really happy. Because, from the time I was born and now I'm 73 years of age I have not seen any NGO to help poor people like the way GiveDirectly is doing, To give out such a huge cash to poor people for them to improved their own lives. From my youthful days I have live in extreme hardship, My house is in a very bad condition when ever rain falls my children and I get wet. I have always wanted to build a better shelter but I couldnot afford the cost of purchasing roofing sheets and buying planks.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
There has been a very big difference in my life since Give Directly started sending me money. Before I used to earned my living from doing daily hire, people hire me to brush their farms. At times I earned 500 LD to 1000LD upon completing the work. This is what I used to paid my kids tuitions and buy basic household items.I have also wanted to build my house, because the old house I currently live in has been in a very bad condition, But I was not able to afford the cost of building a house. My family and I have suffered badly during raining seasons from leaking roof. Currently Give Directly financial assistance has helped improved my life. Now I have enough finance to start building a more decent house. I was able to purchased three bundles of roofing sheets and paid my kids tuitions with the balance amount.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My house is in a very bad condition when ever rain falls my children and I get wet. I have always wanted to build a better shelter but I couldnot afford the cost of purchasing roofing sheets and buying planks. When GiveDirectly sent my first money I used portion of it to buy roofing sheets, the remaining portion I used it to sent my four children to school.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I am successful to receive my transfer, I will use the money to buy medications for my daughter who is a epileptic patient. Her health condition is affecting me mentally and financially. At my age I always struggled by doing a daily hired Job inorder to earn money for her medications, so the transfer from Give Directly will be a great help for me and I will be relief from worries on where to get money. I will also use some of the money, if the money will be enough to build a house for us, because the house that we are currently living in is almost broken down and when ever it rains, we go displaced, looking for rescue in other people's place.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I was happy when my grandson got promoted last academy year. I was very impressed and excited because my struggle on people's farm to get his school fees was not wasted and I am motivated to look for money to pay his school fees.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My current challenges are lack of money and shelter. I need money for my daughter medications every time and when ever her medication finished. She is living on medications and I have to do a daily hired Job inorder to get her medications regularly, because if she goes without taking her medication for a day can lead to a serious life threatening condition. I am also facing a shelter challenge because where my daughter, my grandson and I are currently residing is almost broken down and we don't have any one to help us.
