Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was helping a friend farm in another village when I received the money, I felt relieved because life wasn't that good at the time, I was so happy and came back home and told my wife about it. We waited for 3 days to withdraw the money as we didn't want to make mistakes.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I'm no longer stressed, I have peace of mind as I cleared off my children's school fees for this year, I gave my wife some capital and business is moving on well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought some food stuffs for my family, I cleared off all my children's school fees for the year and paid off the school debt they had. I bought a cow as well as an investment so I can always sell it off and top up so to buy land in a safer place. I also have my wife some capital for her business and it's helping the family.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
I PLAN TO SHIFT TO A BETTER PLACE WHERE THERE WILL NOT BE WATER IN THAT WE WILL NOT GET SICK, INCASE I STILL HAVE A BALANCE, I PLAN TO START A SMALL BUSINESS AND ALSO TAKE MY CHILDREN TO SCHOOL
What is the happiest part of your day?
IN THE LAST SIX MONTHS, ALTHOUGH WE ARE POOR WE HAVEN'T HAD ANY ARGUMENTS AS HOME
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
WHENEVER IT RAINS, WATER COMES FROM UNDER GROUND AND IT AFFECTS OUR HOME, FINANCIALLY I AM NOT OKAY, THIS IS BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A STABLE JOB AND THEREFORE MY CHILDREN ARE CHASED FROM SCHOOL EVERY NOW AND THEN. THE OTHER CHALLENGE I AM FACING IS COLDNESS THAT HAS LED TO SICKNESS IN MY HOME AND WE HAVE FAILED TO GET PROPER MEDICATION SINCE WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY.
