Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The time when i received my transfer I was very happy becaues the money would help me get all what i had been longing for and also it was a very special thing happened in my life

Due to climate change and soil erosion which exacerbates soil's loss of nutrients, i failed to harvest enough yield for my family, thus there was impending hunger and i had no source of income to cover for the deficit. The coming of GiveDirectly in this area was a sigh of relieve because it my opportunity to access enough food. Now i have purchased food that is enough to cover my family for longer period of time

I spent my transfer on 8 bags of maize at MK8500 each, 2 blankets at MK24000 each, 1 matress at MK37600 and now am moulding 6000 bricks for building a new house

The meaning of receiving money from Givedirectly is that the organisation wants to improve livelihoods of poor people so that they are able to get their needs such as food, good shelter, clothes and or start a business

The happiest part of my day is evening because it is time we come together as a family and have fun
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship i have faced in my life is living in a shelter which leaks during rainy season. I have been living in this house for a long time and there was no hope that i could have a good one
