Looking back at my life in the last four months and comparing with the present, there are really major differences that I have witnessed. Right from the mode of clothing to the new house which I have constructed are some of the bigger changes. Initially, I had a few clothes to wear; a condition which would make me wash a certain pair and wait for it to dry before I put it on again. I am grateful that I now have some varieties which can serve me on different occasions. I am also happy that I am soon going to move out of the old house to the newly constructed one. Both my family and I are grateful for the great support that GiveDirectly has accorded to us.

After completion of the construction of a new house, I have an additional goal to resume studies. I have been undertaking a diploma course which I started a year ago and since I was in a school-based program, it has taken me a bit of a longer time than the intended duration. Within the next four months, I have a plan to accumulate some money so that I may resume for my last semester.

In the last four months, the biggest difference in my daily life is the presence of the newly constructed house. For a very long time now, I had been living in an old grass-thatched house with a leaking roof. It has always been my hope that I complete the construction of a new house so that I can move in. Before I started the construction, I have been accumulating the construction material, starting from iron sheets which I was buying two every month. I have managed to complete the construction and now ready to move in after finishing on the finer details in the interior part.

Apart from the construction of the house which I was struggling to see it coming to pass, I have also been running a poultry project which is now well established. I had a goal to ensure that by the end of this year I would be having 100 birds in the coop and it is my hope that this will be possible in the next five months of transfers which I am still remaining with. I have been adding at least four birds every month since I was working on several projects at the same time but now that the construction of the house is done, I will concentrate and add the number which I will be bringing in every month.

Through GiveDirectly support, I have been able to register and sat for my diploma exams in Early Childhood Development. This has been a dream come through since I completed my secondary school studies. I am glad that it has come to pass. Looking back at the past four months I was still lost in focus and never knew what I should do with the little transfer I was receiving from GiveDirectly. I now can see a really big difference after such a short while and still hoping to see more changes as we go along since we are yet to receive more and more transfers in the coming months.

Based on the ongoing programs which have been running, I really don't have a new goal at the moment. I am tasked with school fees payment for my sister and me since I also enrolled in an education program which will be running for the next two years. The task has barred me from starting a new project for the next good number of months but as we go along I hope to get other sources of income which will enable me to invest elsewhere.

In some months ago, we were living from hand to mouth. We would always wake up in the morning with only one thing in mind; to find what the family will feed on. I really thank God for the transformation that has come, we are now doing things the new way. Apart from working hard to feed the family, we also have other projects running. Just to mention but a few, we have a poultry project which has brought the biggest difference in our daily life. On its own, it is enough to gather for the household needs since we are collecting more than 20 eggs every day which when converted to money as per the current cost of an egg is more than 250 KES. All thanks go to GiveDIrectly for making us this proud, we are also glad that it has supplemented the use of wages I get from the casual labor I have been doing which I can now save for other viable projects.

Although I am still into the payment of school fees both for my sister and me, I would wish to start a new project in the next six months. I have been having an idea of establishing and running a Zero-grazing unit in our household. This project requires a lot of preparation and to start with I am planning to till the piece of land I have so that I can plant more grass. This will be the first step which will set me at a go.

My life is currently different from how it was four months ago looking at my current ability to meet my daily expenditure with a lot of ease. If I look at my past life which was ever full of stress and shame for inability to take care of my household, I feel the great impact the transfers have had in my life. I may not mention everything today but the truth of the matter is that with the GD transfers, I am assured of a better tomorrow.

For the next four months, I have a new goal of joining a university. This a dream I had since childhood but could not be accomplished due to lack of finances. My father who could have funded this initiative passed on immediately I had completed my secondary school education.

The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is the happiness I have gained from the success of the poultry farming I started with GD monthly transfers. Initially, I used to depend on hard, irregular and low paying casual jobs to meet my basic needs. After the demise of my father, I had to step in to support my mother in meeting some of the family's needs which has been such a big challenge for me. When the transfer came in, I took a step of starting a poultry rearing project. I began with a total of twenty-three chicken with fifteen currently in the egg laying stage. That translates to 150 KES a day on the sale of their eggs. This has made my life better since I am able to meet my family's needs with much ease and even save a small amount for any future financial emergencies or projects.

In the next six months, I expect to live a different life which is full of joy and peace having made it to the university. In addition to this, I expect to have started earning something from my poultry farming project which will not only help in meeting my family's needs but also pay part of my school fee.

My currently is different since in the last four months, I would struggle a lot in order to get food.

The goals I now have is to add the number of my chicken to fifty since I now have sixteen.

The biggest difference in my life is that I no longer lack money to buy food.

I expect my life to change in that I will be having daily income through the sell of eggs from my chicken.

my goals has remained the same before and when i started receiving the transfer.i have not made any new plans except to implement my plan to have a poultry system.

My new goal is to continue to complete my education and become a teacher.I have always depended on fundraising , basic needs like food clothing can now have.

i expect my life to change as i will have a good income. In every month i receive transfer i will be expanding my poultry project so that i will have about fifty hens and get about Kshs 500 every day.This will make me live well and happily.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that i now have an income.I collect three or four eggs per day from my poultry project.I use this to meet my needs instead of going to my pocket for money to spend on the basic needs.i end up saving about Kshs everyday.
