How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Since I started receiving payments from GiveDirectly my hope and dream have been to built a new house with a zinc roof that has my goal all along. Presently, I have not developed any new goal until I see my dream of building a new house come to reality. For this dream to materialize, however I used a portion of my recent transfer and bought six gallons of gas to saw planks for the roof. Thanks to GiveDirectly they have brought so much financial relieved to us.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly has been doing very well from census stage to payment time. The tireless work done by the staffs through their patient and concerns for the needy is so much remarkable. This kind of help is very rare to be found in our society. In my sincere voice GD has done anything wrong. We are very fortunate that they came our way.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
After receiving my transfer with my goal and aspiration to built a decent and bigger house I used some of the money and bought six gallons of gasoline for the sawing machine to saw planks for the doors, Windows and the roof. Furthermore I used some of the money to pay workers that are sawing the planks. I also used the remaining money to buy food items and the remaining materials for the project. I am very much excited waking up every morning seeing the changes in my life since I started receiving payment from GiveDirectly.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My major goal and plan in life was paying my children school fees and improving my old house condition. For the past (2)two to (3)years my children had been out of school because of tuition. We have been surviving on fufu production for years now. Unfortunately, because of the poor road network in River Cess County no car can enter Boedrun town so easily. Therefore, buyers are unable to purchase our goods in time. The money received from GiveDirectly was very timely and rewarding for me and my family. I want to express many thanks and appreciation to every single member of the GiveDirectly family for the excellent support to my children. Right now all of my children are back in school and my building project is on going. Fifty precents of the transfer was spend on my building materials (Zinc ) and their remaining fifty percents went towards my children school process.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly is really doing very well with in all the Communities in River Cess County. Because everyone is trying to rebuild the life, people that were never planning to build or to improved ther houses today everyone is on building project in this town with the same amount giving to us by GiveDirectly is this not a beautiful thing for us
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
The amount in question was really spend on building materials and my children yearly tuition. For the betterment of my children feature.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
"I never even knew the money was on my phone until my daughter checked the phone and told me.And when she told me I felt very happy. I don't know how to describe the way I felt because it was my first time seeing that kind of money which I didn't do any work for. I didn't cashout right away. I waited for two weeks before cashingout because the money was too big for me and I needed someone to assist me".
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
"First of all, this is a gift I was not even expecting.A real gift from God and I'm very grateful for it. Before receiving this money, I had sold fufu to pay my children school fees but because of the bad road condition the fufu is not marketable like that and my children dropped from school. I was wondering how I will pay their fees this school year and then this big surprise came as a life saver. Now I can pay my children fees so that they can be my future leaders".
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
"Before receiving the money the roof on my house was thatch and rats lived in it. The rats will put holes in the thatch and when it rains the roof leaked. So, the first thing I did was to buy two bundles of zinc to change the roof of my house. I also bought some food stuffs like rice, vita and pepper. I'm saving the balance to add up when I receive the second money to pay my children school fees".

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Now I am living in a house that is leaking.During the raining season, we find it very difficult. When the rain is falling at night , my family and I do not have a place to sleep, because everything in my house gets wet including our mattresses. We have to keep sitting up at night and wait for the rain to stop before we can find a place in the house to sleep. This is worrisome for my my family and I. Presently I had to change some of the thatch on top of the house, because all got spoiled from the rain.My plan for this cash transfer is to a build a new house for my family and myself that we will feel comfortable living in.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am the most happiest person today because seeing Givedirectly here, in my community and at my house makes me more happy . Few months ago, I was sitting alone and going into deep thoughts, about the deplorable condition of my house that I am living in with my family. The house is breaking down on us and no zinc at the top. I called my big daughter in Monrovia and asked her to send me money, so that I can buy zinc for my house, but she told me, she is working on something else and don't have much money. So today seing Givedirectly here and hearing this good news make me to feel bless by God.And today is one of the joyful day in my life. Because I my life and the life of my family will change for the best.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Presently I am a farmer and only depending on crops that I harvest to feed my family and myself. My challenges I am currently faced with are. Financial constrain. I am so much worry because the next academic year will began soon, I need to pay my children school fees. But the farm I have right now can not generate enough money to send my children to school. My husband is not working, he is a farmer as well. I have four children that I need to pay their school fees, but I dont have the money now. And another challenge I have is my house that I am sleeping in along with my family. The rain has spoiled the house, most part of it is breaking down and we dont have money to refix it.
