Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so happy the moment I received money from GiveDirectly. It was late in the evening when I saw a message and asked one of my children to confirm if it was true that I had received a sum of KES 55000 f I was still in the farm left everything and came home to let my husband know of the same. We got down to work almost immediately.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference is the peace of mind that we now enjoy. The money. The money came at a time when one of my children had already been sent home for school fees. I feel GiveDirgectly was God sent because I honestly do not know what I would have done to get money for food. I now feel so much relaxed and me at peace knowing better that none of them will be sent home anytime soon for school fees.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
We used KES 20000 to improve our house-changed iron sheets. The house we were living in as a family had its sheets leaking and I always had the desire to put new iron sheets but I did not have the capacity. I used KES 30000 to pay school fees for my children while the remaining amount was used to buy food for family.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means a better life for me as I will improve my home. My main house including the kitchen are in a bad condition. To improve my home I will also spend about KES 15000 on repairs and a similar amount on water storage tank to collect rain water for domestic use. It leaks whenever it rains. I will also spend about KES 20,000 this money on paying school fees for my children in school.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the past 6 months, we feel happier because my eye problem has been getting better. My hisband helath has also improved ,even though we spend about KES 5000 on our medication
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest challenges we face is poor health and lack of an income. When my husband developed diabetes, his business failed as we spend alot of many and time on his mdication. This means we lack a source of income. Together with this, we struggle with the inability to pay school fees for my children in various institutions
