How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I am a farmer. Sometimes I go to the gold mines to work for money. The money I get paid is not much. I could not afford our failed upkeep. My children had to drop out of school. I could not afford their tuition. For some time they dropped due to lack of money. I was excited when I received my transfer. My only goal has been to see my children becoming future leaders. I am going to commit myself to giving them a better education.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly does not do anything unwell. It gives us unconditional cash and ask for nothing in return. That is amazing.I am so grateful for this opportunity. Our lives will never be the same again after this program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was overwhelmed when I received my payment. I used some of my money to buy some food items. I also paid my children fees.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I do minerals minding. This is how my family and I been surviving before the coming of GiveDirectly cash transfer. I have been planning to build a house for my family and I but the responsibility of the family is too much. I have really been doing too much hard work to make ants meet. Receiving this transfer from Givedirectly is a better chance for me to rest from the hard work I been doing because the transfer has add my financial strength up to reach my goals that I have been planning for the future of my family.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Anyone who will talk ill name falsely against GiveDirectly will receive the wrath of my God upon them. When I have not receive my first transfer message from GiveDirectly, I thought it was a joke or scam. When I received the first transfer, that was when I realised that GiveDirectly was for real. I was sleeping with stress on my mind almost every single night thinking about my children's future and having a better place to live. GiveDirectly is the one that have made me to sleep a normal sleep by providing the needs I needed. If there was any fraud, I would have said it but I have seen nothing that is not done well by GiveDirectly.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have long planned for my house project. I could not afford to achieve this goal because of the too much family responsibility. I have my children in Monrovia in school. Their tuitions is a very huge amount of money. It has not been easy for me sending these children to school. I could not wait to buy zinc when I receive my transfer. I also use portion of the transfer to pay for my children school fees because I need a brighter future for them tomorrow.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Yes, My initial goals were to build house and send my children to school. I also set a new goal to roof my house upon receiving the transfer in addition to the previous goals.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I wouldn't have afford the money now to change my roof, send my children to school and start my new construction. The organisation has done very well for me and I do appreciate their intervention highly through their cash support program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
My family and I live in a thatch house. We are normally affected by the heavy storm and the entire house is flooded with water during the rainy period. In many instances, I have to clamb up the roof to set old buckets and other materials just to cover up some leakages or the holes on the roof. This has affected my children's health and my planned was to build a better house and afford my children quality education. I am very excited to let you know that the tranfer will be use to buy a bundle of zinc and change my roof. I will also use some of the money to initiate the new construction and the rest will be use for my children's education.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I planted a large peanut farm year before the last with the plan of changing the roof of my house and sending my children to school but unfortunately the farm didn't produce up to my expectation. Everything got damaged thus affecting my initial plan of changing the roof of my house and supporting the children in school. Currently my house is seriously leaking and my son is also out of school. So, if I receive this help from this NGO, I will use some to change the roof of my house to zinc. My son was also in school but now he is out of school due to lack of support. I will use part of this money to send him to school along with his sister.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The most happy moment for me over the past six months is the news of Give Directly coming to my town to help me and the family. I have been so worried about my house condition, how to get my son back to school, how to provide their daily bread but this news has brought me much more relief even though I don't know how true this going to be.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My major challenge is how to get money to send the children to school and recondition my home. Right now to find food for the children has become so difficult for me.
