What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my entire third transfer on buying a second hand motorcycle worth 55,000 KES of which I added my saving. Its been years now working on commissions in my employees motorcycle but envisioning myself having my own and due to lack of financial empowerment my dreams seemed impossible, now I am happy having my own motorcycle business which has enabled me provide for my family with ease and also save 9,000 monthly for my household development project. It's a big achievable dream that I have attained through GiveDirectly's assistance and I will forever be greatful to the organisation at large.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used a portion of the transfer to built a new house. I bought a chair. I also purchased foodstuffs for family consumption.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now have a house of my dream. I had a small leaking grass thatched house and my efforts to make saving so that I can establish a better one proved unproductive because my daily income was too meager to save.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I used a larger portion of the transfer to buy 10 pieces of iron sheets which I'll use to establish a new house because the one I have is leaking when raining. I also purchased family foodstuffs with the remaining portion of the transfer.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I received the transfer, I felt relieved because the burden of buying iron sheets was reduced.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship as at now is low income. Business has not been good of late and since I only depend on my commission, this means I have to work extra hard. I strain myself at times.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is at night. It is this time that I get time to relax and enjoy the fruits of a long day of working tirelessly.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money is a blessing to me as I know its going to help me out in solving this financial crisis I am in. My dream of building a better house is almost coming to a reality with this GD money coming my way. The little I get(commission) from the motorcycle which is not mine is not enough to sustain hence the other bit of the money I'll use to set up a small business and the rest to buy my own motorcycle.
