How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different from how it was before because I was able to pay most of my school fees. Due to this, I have been able to continue with my studies without any interruptions. Also, I am now a proud owner of a dairy cow. I believe that it will be calving soon and my family will have enough milk for consumption and sale to earn an income. This will also enable me to save the money I would otherwise use in buying milk.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well by enrolling everyone in our village. Due to this, everyone was able to achieve his/her life dreams. I do not see anything that GD did not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent a good amount from my second transfer to build a more spacious and decent house for my family. The one were living in was small and its walls and floor were made of mud. I am now glad since GiveDirectly enabled me to build a decent house whose walls are made of timber and the floor is cemented. Due to this, cleaning this house is nowadays easier and takes less time than before. I spent the remaining amount to buy some decent clothes for my family and food to last us for some time.
