How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from the way it was four months ago in that I am proud of saving objectively to buy four plastic chairs. Today, we are no longer embarassed when we have vistors mostly from church who would sit on the floor because the seats were not enough and we couldn't afford to hire chairs due to our meager income. The fact that I am not a laughing stack or gossip in my village gives me peace of mind.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have an additional goal of purchasing cement and sand which I will use to plaster my house so that it can be sustainable and neat. Besides that, I will no longer consume time in search of clay and cow dung every month to smear my present mud house after its completion.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am seeing my son happy and good of health after seeking a quality medical services on-time and promptly with GiveDirectly's transfer in private hospitals when the doctors in the public hospitals were on strick. Without GiveDirectly's transfers, I would have been forced to get medical attention from the herbalist in my village due to meager income.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months to have saved enough money and bought cement and sand that shall facilitate the plastering process of my house. Having a semi-permanent house is always pride in my village and I would want to put my focus on it to fit in as well.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from the way it would have been had I not received the transfer in that I have been able to comfortably meet the family's needs. One of the major roles of a parent is to provide shelter for my family. I was failing in this and it was shameful since most of my fellows had thrived at this. I had tried saving from the little I used to get to raise money to buy building materials but I was not able to due to many family needs. I had to put up with the shame of asking for a sleeping place for my family. When I finally received money from GD, I knew this would be no more hence I opted to buy building materials to expand my house. I am glad GD took away my shame.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have an additional goal of purchasing cement and sand which I will use to plaster my house so that it can look neat, strong and durable. Besides that, I find it hectic and time-consuming to look for clay and cow dung every month to smear my house so that it looks neat. I, therefore, feel plastering it is a long term solution and the best for me.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I feel proud because I was able to extend my house thus it can fit my family. The one I had before the transfer was too small and I was forced to send my children to spend at my neighbor's house. This caused a lot of disrespect between us since he used to say I was a bother to his family. I was not able to tell stories freely with my fellows because of the kind of name I had in the village. When I received this transfer, I decided to buy building materials such as iron sheets and nails which I used to expand my house. I am glad I don't risk my children by asking them to walk at night to go find somewhere to sleep and the shame I was going through is no more.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I still expect to have made steps in plastering the house. I know I will have saved enough money to buy cement and sand to plaster the house. This is my pride in the village and I would want to put my focus on it. After accomplishing it, I will then start saving and working towards buying a cow as an investment for my family.
