How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No, at the beginning of this program my initial plan was to build my own house, my plan hasn't been diverted to anything else, from the first transfer to the last I've been going by this plan, and by God's grace it'll be achieved.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
What Givedirectly does well is that, some of us never had plan of owning a house, but when Givedirectly program came it brought some of us hope and plans, through Givedirectly I can boast of owning my own house. So in short, Givedirectly is actually good at bringing hope to the poor. Really, I just can't tell what Givedirectly hasn't done well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my recent transfer on my house project, I was able to buy gas to saw the planks, I've also paid the workmanship, and I took little portion of it to provide some sustenance for my home.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt very happy when I received this money. My wife and I were very happy and we wanted to call the office to say thanks but we have not done it yet. I was wondering of how to raise money to pay my daughter school fees and to build my own house. But I never had the means of getting money. Luckily for me I got this money.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I live in my father-in-law's house. Though he doesn't disturb me but I intend to get my own place. I am now building a family, so I need to stand on my own as a father to raise my children. When I receive this transfer, I plan to build a house for my family. The next thing I plan to do with the transfer is to improve and extend my farm. I have a cucumber garden and I pay people to work on it. When I receive this transfer, I want it to be extended. I will get more people to work on my garden so that it can be extended and yield more products to be sold. I believe that it will be a great business for me to have a lot of money to sustain my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
When my spouse was pregnant, I was very worried about the problems that come along with delivery. When she was in labor pain, I kept praying to God that she has a safe delivery. In the last six months, the only thing that has brought me joy was when my woman gave birth safely to a girl child. On that day, I was very, very excited!
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My major challenge I am faced with is getting my farm products to Monrovia. Because of the road condition, the trucks that come for the goods stay a longer time on the road and sometimes it spoils the products, thus reducing my income. I end up losing my money because I normally credit the amount for transportation to be paid after the sales of the products but it can turn the other way round.
