My life is currently different from the way it was four months ago in that I was able to purchase goats as I had planned. Since I haven't paid for my wife's dowry, I'm planning to sell the goats in order to raise money and buy a cow that I will pay as my wife's dowry.

I haven't paid my wife's dowry yet we have been married for five years. This has lowered my self-esteem because of the constant mocking from friends who have already paid for their wives dowry. Therefore, for the next four months, I have plans for selling some of the goats that I have bought so that I can use the money to pay for my wife's dowry. This will clear my conscience and I will stop avoiding to visit my parents in law because of guilt.

I have never owned any livestock in my life because I couldn't afford to buy any of them considering my unstable source of income. Livestock is one of the best ways to invest in because they give birth and multiply very fast. I'm glad I was able to purchase four goats in the last four months. I feel so proud of myself and I'm hopeful that by the end of the year I'll sell some of the goats in order to purchase a cow which I'll use to pay for my wife's dowry.

I recently moved from my parents home and constructed my home. Even though the house is not yet complete I feel I have made several steps compared to when I was still staying in my parents home. The walls and floor haven't been plastered. I'm therefore planning to use the coming transfers to plaster the house. In the next six months, I expect to have plastered the house fully and moved into the new house.

My life is currently different from how it would have been in that I was able to buy two goats. I have plans for using the goats to exchange for cows which I will add to the ones I have so that I may go pay dowry for my wife. This will earn me respect from my in-laws since they have started asking when I will go pay the dowry. I would want to handle this issue once and for all.

My additional goal in the next four months is to buy a cow. Since I had not paid dowry for my wife, I would want to buy a cow that I will use in paying dowry for my wife. I got married three years ago but due to low income from the motorcycle business, I was not able to raise money to buy cows to pay dowry.

The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving these transfers is that I have my a new house in my own compound. I used the transfer on buying building materials such as nails and iron sheets which I used to put up a new house in my own compound. I had desired to have my own home but because my income from the motorcycle business was not much, I had not raised the required amount to buy the necessary materials to put up a house. I had decided to put up a grass thatched house at first as I look for money to put up an iron-roofed house. The plan was costly which GD saved me from. I am glad I did not go the long way.

I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have paid dowry for my wife. This has been my major source of worry in my life since I feel respect between will get out hand and before it does, I would like to pay the dowry.

I had been planning to leave my father's compound and move into my own for the past year, but due to financial constraints, it was quite difficult. With the help of GD, I was able to buy the required materials much faster and realized this dream. I am happy that I now have my own space where I can make my own decisions and be the boss.

I want to furnish and plaster the house that I recently constructed so that it can be more durable and look more presentable. This will save my wife the stress of having to always smear the house with mud with the aim of trying to keep it in good condition.

Because my wife and I both receive these transfers, she no longer has to depend on me for most of the household needs. This has given me the opportunity to make more savings from my job meaning that I can now achieve more projects in a short period of time.

As soon as I am done with the plastering of my new house, I will start saving these transfers so that I can install electricity in my house. The Government did quite well to bring down the installation charges to an affordable rate and I want to take advantage of it while it lasts. Other than just using the electricity for personal benefits, I will also make a business out of it by charging my neighbours' phones at a fee for an extra source of income.

My life is currently different in that I have commenced the construction of my new house. My family members are also feeding well given that they no longer have to go a day without any meal.

I am planning to purchase livestock for the purpose of rearing and later selling them at a higher price to generate an income.

I have bought iron sheets for the purpose of putting up a house. It would not have been possible if it were not for the transfers I received from GD. I am soon launching the construction process because I have bought the materials.

In the next six months, I will have moved into my new house and my family will be enjoying the comfort of a spacious house. God willingly, I will also have purchased livestock for rearing.

I do not have new goals at the moment because I still want to achieve the goal of building my home, so I have focused fully on it.

My life is currently different from the way it would have been if I did not receive the money in that if it was not for the money by now I wouldn't have joined the motorcycle self-help group that requires a certain amount to be a member. I'm happy I'm now a member and I can now get access to their loans.

In the next six months, I expect to have built my home and installed electricity. With electricity, I'll be able to open a haircut shop which will an added source of income.

The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving the money from GiveDirectly is that I now believe very soon I'll have my own home. This is because I've already bought materials .
