How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before GiveDirectly came to help us, I was struggling to raise money for my family expenses, paying my children school fees was a big challenge for me, but now I have set up a good business from my first and second transfers that is helping greatly. My new goal is to build a decent house for my family, I have a land already which is located to a more decent community, with the business that I am doing and my remaining transfers, I know that my dream of having a decent house will surely come to pass.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well by being truthful and fair in their program, everything they told us from the beginning of the program have come to passed and it makes me sometimes wonder how unique this organization is.They are also kind and patient with us during interviews or solving problems that we encountered in the program. I have not noticed anything that GiveDirectly is not doing well, in my opinion, everybody is okay.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I want to use my recent transfer to buy more materials for my house project, I will start building my house anytime from now, I will also buy food for my family and the remaining amount will be saved for future purposes.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
On November 10, 2021, I went to the market to buy food for my family, when I came back home, I was told by my husband that GiveDirectly has sent money to my mobile money account. When he told me, I was so excited that I didn't even had appetite to eat that day.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before GiveDirectly came to help us, my children didn't had any hope of going to school because of lack of money, but now that I have this transfer, I will make their dream of going back to school come true. I also didn't had any good source of income that will keep supporting my family, but through this GiveDirectly transfer, I have decided to setup a very good business that will raise more money for my family expenses.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
If I am bless to receive money from Givedirectly, I want to use it for my children school and the remaining for business so that I can be able to help my husband. My husband is married to two women and that he is not doing any perminant job to support all of the children from the two women. So, if I start a business it will be able to give me enough profits to provide additional support for the children school and even buy food for the family. Also, the small cassava farm is not enough to feed the entire house. If Givedirectly give me any money, I will really really be grateful for their assistance.
What is the happiest part of your day?
What makes me feel better and happy in the last six months is when my sister daughter delivered safely last week Friday, October 1 of this year. It was her first pregnancy and that people thought that she was going to take operation but she delivered safely without any operation. This makes me feel happy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship facing me now is money to support my children in school and start a business that will keep cash flow for our livelihood. Even though we make cassava farm so that some can be sold to support our children, but no buyers these days. So many people are now selling cassava making the price of cassava to fall. So, if Givedirectly can give me any help that will change me and my family lives will make me feel better.
