How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, I have been able to pay school fees for my child. I used to struggle so much to get money to pay school fees for my children. I could sell illicit brews to raise the income for my family and sometimes even the money I got from the sale was not enough to pay the fees leave alone to take care of our daily provisions. And then came the part where I would hardly sell the brew as I would be on the run because the police were always looking for me so I would run away for days. I can say receiving the transfers has really changed my life as I no longer sell the illicit brew but my child will also manage to finish his college someday.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I do not have any new goal as I am still planning to pay school fees for my child.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am now more happy more than any other day. I was able to fulfil my child's long term dream as I was able to pay his school fees in time and he had ample time studying and eventually sat for the exams. I have always wanted my children to go to school so that they can have better opportunities in life later and also get the chance to change our living conditions. This was just as every parent would wish but the most important factor is to actually be able to raise income to fulfil such a dream. It proved hectic but I am glad that with the GD transfers, I was able to make my child's dream come true.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I still feel I need to pay the school fees for my child and I believe by the end of the six months, he will be halfway through. I am glad that I paid the school fees in time as this will help change his life eventually.

Yes, I have a new goal of constructing a new house to replace the old one that i had before.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different from how it would have been if I never received the transfer in that I no longer worry much on how my son will complete his studies.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect to live in one of the best houses around. With the construction project that I have already began, I have much assurance that with the second transfer, I will be able to complete.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving the transfer is the ease that I found when I managed to pay my son's school fee at an eleventh hour when he was almost differing his course.

What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day, is in the evening when I am together with my family after a whole days work in my farm. Seeing my family sharing a meal together acts as a motivation to me to get up early the next day and go to the farm.

I am planning to spend a larger part of my transfers on building a new semi permanent kitchen. I shall also plan to spend the rest on paying fees for the orphans I take care of.
