Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal for the next four months is to save money to registered for national hospital and insurance fund cover. This will enable me to cut the cost that I spend during the treatment.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that currently, I own five goats. I depend on my brother who does casual jobs in the village. The amount of money that he usually earns is so small and only enough for some basic household items. I felt sick and my body is not strong enough to engage in any activity and this has made me depend so much on my siblings since. I stay at home and my brother usually helps me with buying my household needs. I'm so much happy in that after I started to received the transfer I have been able to buy all the basic needs and plan myself well without depending so much on them. I was able to save the money and I bought five goats. When the have reproduced I will sell them and buy a dairy cow and also gather for any emergencies that might arise. I 'm so happy because I have my own assets and I live happily without depending on anyone so much.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I have lived like a beggar for my past life and it got worse after I lost both parents more than five years ago leaving in the hands of my brother. Since I was young my health has not been good due to my weak immune system hence I have been prone to disease like blood pressure, malaria among others hence I have not been able to engage in any activity making my life a challenging one. It had been hard for me accessing my personal basic needs more so the medication that I needed the most at the right time. My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I enjoy easy access to basic needs like food, clothing and medication being the greatest given the condition I am in. With the monthly transfers, I receive from GiveDirectlyI have been able to buy a sheep that I always take pride in. I am so happy I also own an asset that will soon multiply hence increasing my value and security for any financial needs arising more so in my older age. I am thankful to GD since I have gained self-esteem in society and always have a peaceful mind that GD money has given me.

I had no family of my own neither did I have any children to give me hope. When GiveDirectly transfers came, At least I afforded to buy medicine and get better with time. Am no longer stressed like I used to be before I started receiving these transfers. The knowledge that I will receive money at the end of every month has given me endless hope to continue being happy. At leas I no longer rely on well wishers to meet all my daily needs like I used to do before.
