How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
The biggest difference in my life is that I was able to invest through planting potatoes on a few acres of land. Through the transfers I got from Give Directly, I was able to lease land and even bought potatoes tubers with ease. Farming to me has been so easy. I can effortlessly take care of the crops with required chemicals and use certified seeds which guaranteed me quality produce.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am planning to start poultry farming. I feel its a business that most people have not ventured into therefore possibility of it flourishing is very high. Therefore for the next four months, I will be saving the monthly transfers that I normally receive from Give Directly with the intention of buying building materials for constructing a poultry house. Through the sale of eggs and chicken, I know I will be able to meet most of my set goals.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
In June, I leased a piece of land for farming. The 15th transfer which I recently received I spend the whole amount to buy potatoes tubers which I planted on that farm. To me having such financial support from Give directly has really empowered to do what I love the most. Farming has been my passion for a very long, I only lacked financial support to facilitate my farming activities. I am looking forward to a good harvest as my plants are doing so well at the moment.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next four months, I believe I will have harvested the potatoes that are currently on my farm. I know they will do well which means I may get a good income out of it. I did all the procedures on times and used all the necessary inputs that's why the plants are doing so well. This will give me enough capital to start my own boutique. I have acquired a few skills in this field I had worked for someone. I know when I combine my profits and the money I get from GiveDirectly I will be able to come up with a big and more established boutique in this village

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is a chest complication that I have had since 2012. This health condition has taken a toll on both my physical appearance and finances. It has been a challenge because I have to attend to medication regularly during the rainy seasons, which requires money.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening. This is the moment I spend in my shop business while talking to people. My friends join me at this moment because they are through with their day's activities. Talking to them makes me happy.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my monthly transfer on starting a new business. I have been thinking of buying tea leaves from farmers and selling them to the tea factory at a profit. After saving these profits for a period of time, I am planning to buy a milking cow. The milk I get will be used for domestic purpose while I sell the surplus.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
Last year in November I helped my husband set up a shop business in this village. Since then we have gained commendable profits since it is the only shop in the village. This business has catered for most of our domestic needs and brought me closer to my husband. This is an achievement I am proudest of.
