What did you spend your third transfer on?
When I received my third transfer, I cleared whole year school fees for my son in a secondary school and I am glad that I noticed a difference experience all together. My son stayed in school for a longer time and he was able to learn through out the lessons.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer because I have managed to renovate my main house and fitted it with a steel door and steel windows and this has improved my security. Back the, before I received the money, my security had deteriorated since the house had turned old and it never had a burglar proof door-my things could also get lost without understanding where they had gone. Finally, this is the year I managed to clear the whole year school fees for my son in a secondary school and I have felt the peace that comes with that when you are owing no one.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, what Give Directly does well is that it works with more transparency and therefore everyone is able to receive all his/ her money as promised. But, I would urge it considers replicating this more to other places where people are also suffering not only here in our village.
