How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
This second transfer has shifted my husband and I daily goal of worrying about finding meal for our children to improving our house roof from thatch to zinc. Because we barely sleep at night when it is raining. The roof leaks whenever rain falls. For over 20 years now, we have been living under this leaking thatch roof with our 5 children and have not been able to improve the roof with an iron sheet or zinc. However, thank God for the receipt of this second transfer. It will enable us to improve our house roof with a zinc or iron sheets.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I like GiveDirectly so much for everything it is doing for us in this village. I am not aware of any wrong that this organisation has or is doing. Since the coming of GiveDirectly into this village, my family and I are trying to experience great improvement in our lives. The goal of improving our house was not even on our mind. My husband and I initial worry was to find meal for our children and send them to school. But now we have a goal of improving our house which is because of GiveDirectly. My family and I are very grateful to GiveDirectly for being here for us.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I will spend this second transfer on paying for the sawing of plank and buying of zinc to recondition my house roof. My house roof is made of thatch that leaks everytime rain falls which is so embarrassing for us. This cash has brought true happiness to my family and me where we will sleep comfortably and worry no more during raining time.

When I firstly received the transfer on my phone, I was very much happy and had the thought of business establishment assured but on the other hand, things did not work as expected. My joy changed into sorrow in few hours. Unknown criminals took away my entire money that I received from Give Directly around the Red Light Paynesville belt. However, things had been hard on me but with the hope of receiving my next transfer which had given me some level of encouragement to portray my goal.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I was a business women in Jue selling 25 kg rice , battery , cubes/vitae including other goods . And the proceeds from the sale will be used to purchase fish and take it to Monrovia and have it sold to purchase another goods for the sale in my town. The business broke down because I have many children to fee with the little cash from the business when my capital was used in the rainy season on food for my family. I have planned to establish a bigger business anytime I have cash and this cash transfer is an opportunity for me actuallize my plan.
