How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different in that I now have a cow. The cow is currently producing milk which is very vital in terms of food to the family. We also sell some to earn us income to help us run day to day household needs. We had no cow which was raining and therefore ot exposed us to climatic adverse conditions. The new house that was built is now our home. It has provided us with a comfort. We are no longer rained on, and it's nolonger cold. We are safe and that means we are no longer exposed to adverse climatic conditions.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Givedirectly does good by offering financial support to poor people to help them rise beyond their means in terms of unconditional cash transfers. There is really nothing that GD does wrong!
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the second transfers in building my new house, replacing the old grass thatched one that couldn't provide shelter anymore. It was raining exposing us to adverse climatic conditions which always made us prone to diseases. I also paid school fees for my child who is in secondary school and also bought a cow. I am expecting it to calve very soon.
