Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very greatful when i recieved my money. I felt relived because i knew now my life had changed and my worries were gone.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I now have food which was something that was taking my peace away. I have three children and i am also expecting my fourth child and providing for them was very hard as in my condition i cannot do hard labour jobs.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my money on buying 5 bags of maize at MK10,000 each. I had maize in my home enough to feed my family for the next 4 months but 4 months ago my husband left me and he sold all the maize and took the money with him. I have also bought materials to start building a house next year because i fear that the one i have will not stand through next year.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am very excited to receive this money because it solve my problems which i have been facing. I plan to buy iron sheets for the house and if the money is still there i want to buy house furniture and food. I only have 2 bags of maize left and i would like to add at least 3 more to take me to the next harvesting season. This would cost k30000
What is the happiest part of your day?
I think my children brings me joy even though we are suffering. Seeing my children alive and playing makes me happy
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
One of the biggest challenge i face at the moment is lack of food for my family. I harvested a lot of maize but my husband sold all with the intention of going to South Africa but he ended up misusing the money.
