How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I have been in position to construct a commercial house that is currently at the roofing level. I am planning to roof this house with the sales I get from agricultural produce and the profits from my business. Once this house is complete, I will rent it out in so doing helping me pay fees for my children and even at my old age its going to be my source of income.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well to give me cash that I have used to boost my business and purchase construction Materials. On my side, GiveDirectly has not done anything bad.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to purchase construction materials(12 bags of cement, 2 trips of bricks, iron bars, binding wire nails and timber), paid construction labour and buying foodstuffs.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily is that I am happy because I enrolled my children into good schools. I am so grateful to GiveDirectly because I am currently constructing a house without depending on my business profits.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I think I was the happiest person on earth at that moment when I received the money. My wife abandoned me and left me struggling to take care of four children. This left me helpless and stuck on how to take care of them. However when I received the cash transfer, I felt very happy it was going to pay school fees which was the biggest challenge.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent half of my first transfer to pay school fees for my four children. I also spent the remaining money to purchase bricks, 2 bags of cement, a set of ring beam iron rods. These will be used to construct my house which is currently at the ring beam level.
