Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my cash transfer I was so grateful and happy..The money gave me hope that everything will be alright in my family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving these payments is that currently, I am able to eat three times a day as compared to the past where at times we could go the whole day without eating. Also, I will be able to cultivate more crops in my field as I now have fertiliser hence achieving higher yields.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my most recent transfer to procure 7 bags of maize which I think will be sufficient for my family since it is a small consisting of 2 adults and 2 kids. Then I bought agricultural materials such as fertiliser..The bags of fertiliser costed me about $138 and will be used in my maize field in the following season.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
Receiving this money would help me to start animal farming. I will buy twenty goats which would cost me $200. When the goats reproduce I will be able to sell them to help me provide basic needs for my family such as food and clothes.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I was the happiest in the month of April. This is so because i had a lot of customers come to buy alcohol since people had harvested and sold their farm produce. On a daily basis during this month I would make $5 which made it easy for me to buy food.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenge that I am currently facing is a financial problem. I have a small business where I do sell alcohol. In my community we are a lot of people that also run the same business which makes the competitive very high. On a daily basis I am able to make $2 if the demand is high. The money that I make is not enough to provide food and clothes for my family of four.
