What did you spend your second transfer on?
We were staying in a rental house because we were not able to raise enough money to both buy a piece of land and construct a house too. So when we received our second transfer we used the whole of it to build our home in the piece of land I bought with the first transfer. I'm now happy and proud we have our home.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion Gd does well by giving cash to the needy to help them raise their living standards. I really don't see anything Gd does not do well.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that had I not received the money from Gd by now I would be staying in the center still because our income could not allow us to buy a piece of land and to construct a house too.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on 0.5 acre piece of land (20,000 KES) where we intend to build our home since we did not have any land and so live in a rental house.I also bought iron sheets and nails (25,000 KES) in preparation for the construction.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment when I received my money I felt so good because I could carry out some of our planned activities.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Living in a rental house is my biggest challenge. I have paid rent for so long but we do not have a good source of income.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest time of the day is in the Morning when my husband comes back from his usual fishing job and he brings home an income that we can spend on that day.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money in my family is a great happiness because I have lacked so many things, the priority being my own house and beddings.
