Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I received LS1, I was temporary working for my neighbor where I was working in her field. I received the transfer and got so excited, but I waited up to 3 days to withdraw my money. I did not want to rush in doing something that is not beneficial for my child and I. I ended up buying a goat, some clothes and saved a big portion of my transfer on my bank account for when I receive LS2.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before receiving LS1, I relied on working temporary for other people and could not think of something I wanted to do long term. After I received the first transfer, I am now waiting on LS2 to buy a piece of land where I plan on working and building a house in the future. I am also waiting for the end of the year for when my saving group re-distributes the savings and shares the benefits. All this would have not been possible if I had not received a GD transfer.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I had many plans when I received the first transfer. I bought a goat worth 70 $, a mattress for 30 $, utensils worth 10 $, clothes worth 20 $, food for 17 $, invested in a saving group a total amount of 50 $ and kept the rest of LS1 on my bank account. I saved most of my transfer because I plan on buying a spacious piece of land when LS2 comes in.

What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
I would like to first thank GiveDirectly for bringing this support to us. I plan to buy land of 200$ which will help us get the food from our own farming. As farming requires fertiliser, I will buy goats of 80$, rabbits for 10$ and pigs of 20$ . Moreover, I will make my house looks clean by adding cements and metal sheets, I will use 150$. I hope to buy kitchen materials for 30$, matress of 40$ and bedsheets of 10$. I will put the remaining amount in the saving grou so that I can use them in the future.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Many times when I go to do my casual job and get money to feed my family, I am always happy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest challenge I have is that I do not have land where I can cultivate because many times I do casual work in agriculture. In short words, I am very poor.
