How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before receiving transfer from GiveDirectly, my husband is a palm cutter and our livelihood depend greatly on the sale of the palm nuts. The little sales was only manageable for our daily needs. For this reason, we couldn't afford to complete our house project. On that note, the mud on the building were all falling away, to the extent that you could see through the building with the hole created. Therefore, my new goal is to plaster the walls of the building before the rainy season. However, I used half of my transfer and bought fifteen bags of cement. Furthermore, a portion of the money was used to pay the contractors. The remaining money was spend on buying food stuff for the workers. I feel very delighted that I became one of the beneficiaries of this unique opportunity.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did a tremendous job. From the selection process of getting qualified household as beneficiaries of this unique opportunity to payment time, they have been working tirelessly to see the lives of the needy change for the better. We are very grateful that this Organization came our way. Our individual lives had been touched in many ways that we can't imagine. Truly speaking, I have not seen anything wrong done by GiveDirectly. I am very fortunate to be part of this program. Many thanks to GiveDirectly for this great help.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
After receiving my recent transfer, with my new goal to plaster the walls of my house before the rainy season. On that note, I used half of the money and bought fifteen bags of cement. For the passed years, my family livelihood had been solely depended on the sale of palm nuts. The little sales was only manageable for our daily needs. For this reason, we couldn't afford to complete our house project. For that reason, the mud on the building were all falling away, to the extent that you could see through the building with the hole created. Since the day the work started, I have filled with so much joy knowing that my dream of a comfortable and better living place will soon be accomplished. All thanks to GiveDirectly for changing our lives for the better.

When receive the transfer from Givedirectly, I decided to renovate it and rezinc the kitchen with portion of the money when I take it from my account. When the second transfer came also, I'd planned to use portion of it to complete my new house but I have. It has come but not yet with withdrew. Thanks to God Almighty for GiveDirectly for giving me such amount of money to develop my life and my family life for the future.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
According to what I have been hearing about GiveDirectly from people who are educated and reading on GiveDirectly and from the town hall meeting held with us before the whole thing started, I have learned that GiveDirectly is a non-profit organisation that do unconditional cash transfer to help poor people like us to improve our lives economically and also feel important in the society. I don't really know anything that is not done well. I just want to say thank you to the Givedirectly family for being a help to me and my family for giving us a better future and making us to feel proud in life.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I got the alert, I was so excited because I have never received such a huge amount before in my entire life.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before GiveDirectly transfer, my family and I had lived in a miss shift house for many years. With this condition we had worked so hard for many years to renovate our house but this has never been possible. Receiving this money brought total relieved to my household. With this transfer I am planning on getting zinc to change the roof and even add an extension so every one can have a space of their own. With this my children will have a better and safe house to live in.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have not spend anything from the money because, I want for the second money to come so I can complete my unfinished house project. This has been a serious burning issue for me for years. I'm living in a thatched house right now that the roof leaks every time its rain.
