As a family of five, we rely heavily on my barber shop for support. Unfortunately, the business is not thriving, which has led me to seek alternative sources of income. I have been hoping to purchase an additional shaving machine to help grow my business, but finances have always been a challenge. Thankfully, with the anticipated transfers, I plan on spending KES 7500 on purchasing this shaving machine. In addition to that, I aim to spend KES 30000 in goats. They thrive well in our area and can multiply quickly, making them a solid investment for my family. With proper care, I believe I can earn a significant income in a relatively short time. This dual approach—enhancing my barber shop and starting a small goat farm—will hopefully provide us with better financial stability and support our family’s needs in the long run.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Pregnancy can bring about many vulnerabilities, including an increased risk of diseases and preterm complications. When my wife became pregnant, I constantly prayed that she would carry the baby to term and have a safe delivery. I was eager to welcome our child into the world. Four months ago, my prayers were answered when my wife delivered safely, and we joyfully welcomed our third child. This experience filled me with immense happiness and gratitude, especially knowing that my family is healthy and thriving. Each day, I cherish the moments we share together, celebrating the love and joy our children bring into our lives.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I live around Lake Baringo, a place that boasts an abundance of water. However, despite the lake's size and beauty, I find myself deeply concerned about the safety of its water for drinking. The high fluoride levels present in the lake can lead to serious health issues, including browning of the teeth and weakening of bones. I have seen the effects of this firsthand, and the thought of my children experiencing the same problems fills me with fear. As a parent, I feel a strong responsibility to protect their health and well-being, which is why I have made the decision to purchase water from Marigat town instead. It is a tough choice, especially knowing that the water is not just a convenience but a vital necessity for their daily lives.
