How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different since I am currently employed because I was able to start up an income generating activity (buy and sell silver fish, tomatoes, onions and g.nuts) that is enabling me to provide for my family's day to day needs. Prior to receiving this money, I had to do casual labor in other people's farms to raise money to cater for my family. In addition to this, although it was using the first transfer, I am delighted that I was able to build which would not be the case if I had never received this money. This has relieved me from the issue of looking for grass that is hard to get and a leaking roof always.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly has done well by putting a smile on my face through the money it has given me. This money has enabled me to accomplish some financial needs that I thought I would never get out off. To my community, it has developed it through the housing, education of children and feeding. On the other hand, there is nothing bad that GiveDirectly has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer Ugx 900000 to hire farm land. I used Ugx 100000 to treat children, buy them small things that would make them happy like bread, soda, juice and food. I then bought a cow at Ugx 400000. I used Ugx 100000 to set up a personal business as a means of generating income. I gave Ugx 100000 to my husband as we had agreed for his personal needs.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily life is more enjoyable now because I no longer engage in heavy manual work hence relieving my body from fatigue and pain. I used to do heavy work like weeding other people's crops in order to earn an income of Ugx 3000. With this money, I couldn't settle most of my family needs especially food and medical hence leading to stress.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt very happy when I received the money. I have been living in poverty where by, I could hardly meet all my family needs like medical, feeding and clothing.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on renting an acre of agricultural land at UGX 200000, bought two mattresses at UGX 200000 and paid medical costs worth UGX 52000. I also bought building materials i.e (bricks, cement, iron sheets, timber, nails and sand) at UGX 1248000.
