I spent my Transfer on improving my house because I was living in inadequate house without doors and windows and there was no security for my family

I bought a land of 100k ,I am planning to plant different crops such as bananas, beans and cassava.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My life is getting better now, I was hopeless about my future but it's not the same since I received the first batch from Givedirectly. I was able to buy land , food for my family and I even paid medical insurance.I thank Givedirectly for the financial support the donation came as a solution to my problems.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was home cooking then I heard a notification message coming from Givedirectly. I had so much joy in my heart. The first thing I thought is that I am going to change my life.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Not having enough land to cultivate is my greatest challenge, I have to work for others me and my grandson Eugene to be able to raise money to rent a land.
Our house is very old and it rains inside, when there is rain at night we are not able to sleep we have to stay up all night trying to get it out and the house is small we have to sleep with our livestock in the house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Having security and a healthy life is what keeps me going forward. For the past month i have been able to get what to eat and my daughter Chantal was able to conceive recently and this brought me happiness because my family is expanding.
We currently have solar panels and we no longer hit our head walking at night or eat in the dark because we have light in our house.
What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
The first installment i plan to buy a forest for $350 which i plan to pay in installments for $200 first and this will help me generate some income in the future and the balance i want to pay out the solar panel we received for $40 and i will buy food and clothes for my grandson.
The second installment i plan to buy livestocks, i want to buy 2 goat for $80 and i also plan to renovate my house. The balance i want to buy a cow for $200 to give me fertiliser.
Receiving this money means having someone who thinks about me, it will help us have a good standard of living and have a better life.
