Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal for the next four months is to join the merry go round group that is in the village and save money. I will be in a position to save money to buy a water tank for storing clean water. Getting clean water for domestic use is a big challenge.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I was able to pay for my college fees. My brother is the one who has been paying part of my school fees all along. He does casual jobs in the village to earn some money. Whenever there are no jobs it was a big challenge in that he could delay in paying the fees, I could be sent home to collect the school fees and this was affecting my performance. I used to save the money that I usually receive every month from GiveDirectly to pay part of the school fees. I'm so happy because I was able to pay all the school fees with the savings and I did the final exams and got the best result. Currently, I'm waiting for graduation. I have hope that when I get my certificate. GiveDirectly has changed my living standard.

Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I have a new goal to accumulate my savings through the Merry-go-round project which we started. This to me is in line with the new goal to purchase a large water tank in the next four months.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the fact that I have been able to pay for all the trips in college which I was required to pay for. For sometimes now, my husband with the support of my parents has been struggling to meet my upkeep and school fees payment and I could not afford to ask for more since it has not been that easy. Receiving the transfers fromGiveDiretly has been way too helpful since I have not been asking a lot from them anymore.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I expect to have accumulated enough money to purchase a water tank. I have put this plan as a priority since fetching water from the rivers has been so hard since we have to walk for a full 2KM in order to find a source of water that still has not been reliable since it gets dry when the rainy season stops.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different in that I no longer bother my parents with pocket money. I take care of most of my needs by myself ever since I started receiving help from Give Directly. I feel lucky because it is so embarrassing to ask for some items especially the personal items. I thank Give Directly for coming up with the idea of giving out transfers since they come in handy especially for emergency situations.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal as of now is to start saving some money in a merry go round so that I can offset my school fees arrears. My parents have tried their best to reach me where I am today. I can't blame them much for not being able to clear my fees because they do not have a stable source of income. I feel like I also need to chip in and clear the remaining fee balance by saving the monthly transfer that I normally get from Give Directly in order to clear my fees. I have already identified a merry go round that has members whom I trust and believe would help me achieve this goal. All in all, I thank Give Directly because I would not have managed all by myself.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Currently, I am doing my attachment. This means I used a lot of money on transport and other logistics. I used to depend on my parents for most of these needs but am glad the transfers help pay house rent and buy basic needs such as food without bothering them. I feel responsible and of great help because I have relieved them from part of a burden.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to complete my studies and excel in it. Once this is done, I hope to secure a good job that will help me take good care of my family. Despite the challenge of lack of school fees, I have faith that I will get a source and clear these arrears and finish my studies. I pray that these plans, with the help of God, come to pass. I really thank Give Directly for making me have a plan in life and generally become ambitious. I used their money to settle a few expenses that placed me at a better place where I could excel and improve my living condition.

My life is currently different because I have successfully joined a merry go round contribution. I have been hearing about this and I had the urge to join. However, I couldn’t because I had no capital. My life is also different because I can hold money in my hand and decide what to do with it.

In my daily life, the biggest difference is ability to call my family members back at home. Before I got the transfer, I had no money to buy airtime and I have always ended up sending “please call me messages”, asking them to call me back. I am now happy to report that I always call my mother any time I wish to.
