What does receiving this money mean to you?
I completed my grade 8 final examination last month and now in the preparation of joining high school. My parents are peasants farmers and they can not afford to pay school fees for me. This has stressed me so much as my peers are now doing shopping in preparation for the first term in school. Upon receiving this money, my plan is to spend all of them in my secondary education because my parents are not in a position to finance my education due to the poverty level in my family. I believe through this transfer, I will be able to make my dream of becoming a teacher a reality.
What is the happiest part of your day?
It was month ago when I finished my primary school education. This was a dream come true as I had been through hardships and challenges but finally I made it. When the examination results were announced I had performed exemplary well and got admitted to one of the best schools in the region where I am supposed to report early next month.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Lack of food is a big problem in my family of eight as I only depend on my father who is doing casual labour to support the family. There is drought in our area and this has dried up the water pans which we only depend as our only sources of water. This has hit us hard as we have to walk more than 3 kilometers to reach the nearest source of water.
