How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I would have never managed to managed to plant the two acres of sugarcane like I already did because it is so expensive and I do not think I could afford that amount. Planting one acre of land alone could cost around thirty thousand shillings which is quite an amount.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion I think GD has really helped the poor by giving them cash transfers that they use to transform their lives in different ways. A good example is the transforms I see in the villages where people build houses, plant sugarcane in plenty and even pay school fees for their children.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the cash transfers on buying a cow and also spent some of it in the weeding process to ensure that I get maximum harvest at the end of the season. I also spent some of the cash to help my wife who was pregnant by then so I had no option but to use the money to take care of her maternity budget.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be able to improve my house and improve my little business by getting another sprayer so that I be able to get more profits. With two sprayers I shall hire additional personel whenever I get contracts to spray farms.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is usually during the day while engaging customers and friends in the fields where we work.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship is feeding my family whenever I fail to get spraying jobs, this may mean using all our savings or going without meals.
