What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
The GiveDirectly cash transfers have come at a pivotal moment for my family, as we have been grappling with financial struggles to meet our daily needs. Currently, we have no investments to rely on. Our plan is to set aside KES 10,000 from the first transfer to venture into poultry farming by expanding our chicken coop and purchasing more chickens. The remaining funds will be used to stock up on food and buy essential household items. Additionally, we aim to begin livestock farming, expand our one-room house as our children grow, and invest in a water tank for our family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Iam a happy woman because I live in my own house, free from the burden of rent. I'm also deeply grateful for the peaceful life I share with my family, despite the financial challenges we continue to face
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The lack of employment is our household’s primary challenge, as we solely rely on fishing in Lake Baringo. At times, my husband comes home without catching any fish, which makes our income very inconsistent.
