How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different in that, I am not worried like I used to before since I managed to plaster my house using the transfers which I got recently. I used to get worried especially during the rainy season because my floor could get muddy. My children used to sleep down, this means that their bedding would get wet. They frequently became sick as a result of this. I tried so much to save what I could from the casual jobs but most of the time the money could be spent on acquiring basic needs. I am glad that this will no longer be the case. I sincerely thank GiveDirectly.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to establish my home. I still stay in my parents-in-laws homestead which according to me is not a good idea. I long to have my own home away from my in-laws. I thank them for accommodating us all this time but I will be happier if I finally have my own homestead.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that my husband and I are now officially married. My husband was able to pay for my dowry. I had stayed with him for over seven years and he had never gone to our home because he had not fulfilled the dowry promise. After finishing that commitment, we immediately organized to visit my parents. At least he got the chance to know my family members better. I thank GiveDirectly very much for creating this strong bond between my husband and my parents which was not their before.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I do not expect my life to change in the next six months because right now after completion of the transfer, I depend only on casual jobs. This is only enough to cater for food and a few basic needs. I feel that I will still be the same.
