Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference that this transfer has brought into my daily life is that at first, I didn't own any livestock and this is all in the past as own some goats which I will be taking care of them in my own compound. These are my own assets of which once they reproduce in future I will be able to sell some and use the money to support my children's education in order for them to achieve their goals.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was happy that moment I saw the notification from GiveDirectly that I had actually received my transfer. At first, I could not believe it but after some minutes it dawned to me that it was a reality that indeed, GiveDirectly has fulfilled their promise. At that moment, I became so happy and felt more energized and that I had obtained a breakthrough to utilize opportunities that surrounded me for personal growth financially.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
On receiving my first transfer, I contributed part of it together with my son and bought a motorbike. I didn't have any other source of income and having a motorbike in my household will bring a daily income to us as a family for our upkeep and also be able to pay for school fees for my young children who are progressing well in their education. I also bought 2 goats, which are my assets and I am certain that they will reproduce and I will be able to sell and earn income to invest in other viable business opportunities that I come across.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will start a food kiosk and also sell vegetables and second hand clothes in my village. This will help me earn more income so I can be able to educate my two children in primary school and provide basic needs such as food for my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning. I am very happy when I wake up to see my family healthy and we have breakfast together.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is lack of income. This has made it difficult for me to repair my leaking roof, buy adequate food for my family, buy school uniform for my children and pay their school fees.
