Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In addition to the projects I have started with this money, I have a new goal to start a small vegetable business. I will be buying directly from the farm at a relatively lower price and with the help of my husband who has a motorcycle, we will ferry them to the market place where I will be selling them at a profit.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is the purchase of new clothes. For a long time now, fashionable clothes have been getting in and out of the market without us wearing them since they seemed expensive. It reached a point where I had gotten a perception that version clothes are only meant for the rich class of people. After receiving these transfers, I decided to prove myself wrong by changing my wardrobe from the old second-hand clothes I had been wearing to the brand new fashion clothes. I am so grateful that GiveDirectly came into our village. Were it not for this enrollment into the program, I would not have worn this type of clothing in my life.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next four months, I expect to have gotten and saved enough money to lease a piece of land which I intend to plant beans on a better scale of land. The small piece of land which we own in our household has never been enough to produce enough foodstuff to serve our household and it has been my prayer that I will one day get enough money so that I can lease a piece of extra land for farming operations.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Four months ago, I acquired a lot of chickens that provided me with a daily income from the eggs that I collected and sold. I used the constant income to buy food for the household and even boost my savings in a merry go round group. Unlike before, I was able to meet my families needs. Previously, during famine like the one that just ended, my children would sometimes go to bed hungry, This did not happen this time t because of the transfer.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to save in another round in my group so that I buy tea leaves from my neighbors and deliver it to a nearby factory. This will earn me more money from the business because the trade is highly profitable.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my life came from the savings I received in April from my merry go round group. I have been saving a large part of the transfers over the last four months. When I got the money form my savings group, I used it to buy a heifer that Is fast growing towards lactation. I am very hopeful that I will be producing more than the usual quantity of milk because I bought a good dairy breed. I am so happy that I have increased my milk production capability.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to have changed in the six months because I will have started a shop business. I will be dealing in second-hand clothes. From this business, I will be making money and my heifer will be mature and producing milk. I expect to have increased my milk production and egg production.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now own a dairy cow! We have always had an idle grazing field and we always wished we could get one. When we started receiving the transfers, We started and joined a merry go round where we saved some part of the transfers every month. When I got my savings, I finally bought a cow and soon, it will give birth and I and my family will enjoy its milk. We will sell the extra amount of milk for an income.

The biggest difference in my daily life is the happiness and the freedom that I have. Receiving the transfers from Givedirectly has enabled me to make decisions on whatever I wish to do. Before, It was hard making some of these decisions because most of would require input of finances. I am also happy and that my kids and I have good clothes that I bought with the help of the money.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the next six months or so is to build a better brick house for our family. Right now I stay in a two room mud walled house. Maintain and keeping neat a house made of mud is such a gruesome work and takes too much time doing so. It is also not hygeienic to stay in such a house especially for young children because of the dust. I also want my children to go to a good school.
