How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before being enrolled i had a lot of goals that i badly needed to accomplish but i gave up on them because i knew i wouldn't be able to,since financies are a big challenge in my life, the coming in of GiveDirectly programme was more like a miracle to me after everything i heard about how the programme works. One of my biggest goal was shelter,so with my first transfer i managed to buy bricks, ironsheet, nails,Timba and everything that compliments house project,i was so grateful because without the programme i wouldn't have been able to buy these things. From my transfer's i barely bought any other things but food because a house is what i needed the most.So yes this house project came in after i got enrolled in the programme.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly do well by enrolling each and every legit household in the village, because this way everyone has a chance to benefits from the programme
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Because of flooding we lost a lot of things including houses and food,so my second transfer has helped my family to buy food which will cover us almost half a year since our plants(maize) have been washed away,we have also bought clothes and a few kitchen utensils.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I will use part of the money go renovate my house. This house was built by my father long ago. In 2017 he gave it to me and left for South africa but as you can the condition of the house is not good. When its raining it leaks and other part its broken need to fixed. I was failing to renovate it because i did not have money but now since i am enrolled in givedirectly program i now know that my dream will come true and am very thankful
What is the happiest part of your day?
I dont remember when i was happy in the last 6 months but last week i was happy after when people from givedirectly came in my village. I was very happy because i knew that some of my problems will be solved
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Im a single mother. In 2016 i got pregnant and my boyfriend denied the responsibility. I stay here with my child, the challenge am facing now is lack of money to buy food. The only way i have to source money is through casual labour. Its hard because sometimes i come home without money to buy food and it means that day i sleep without eating anything or in this mango season i just eat mamgoes and sleep
