How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different in that, I have been in position to make 13000 bricks. I will use part of it to construct a permanent house and sell the rest for income. I will use this income as capital to start a shop. In addition, I have an intention of opening a farm mainly for piggery and poultry. Before, the only source of income was brick making at people's sites and that fetched little income.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well to give me financial support that has helped me own a popcorn making machine. Piglets, goats, hens and household items like clothes, curtains and bed sheets. I am grateful because GiveDirectly has done every thing well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent UGX 650,000 of my second transfer to make bricks that I am going to use for constructing a permanent house and for sale. I bought 8 piglets at UGX 400,000, 5 hens at UGX 100,000, 2 goats at UGX 130,000. I also bought a popcorn making machine at UGX 250,0000 that will generate for me daily income when I start popcorn making business. Further more, I bought bed sheets, towel, curtains, clothes and lotion at UGX 102,000.
