What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I own 2 acres of idle land that I am unable to develop due to financial constraints preventing me from clearing the bushes and planting crops for commercial use. It is disheartening not to see the land prosper like my neighbors'. Given the opportunity to invest in commercial agriculture, I would be thrilled to finally realize its potential.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the past six months, I successfully extended my house by adding an extra room. This achievement became feasible after I planted watermelons on a half-acre farm, which yielded KES 50,000 upon selling. With this additional income, my three children and I now comfortably reside in the house, providing us with the privacy we cherish so much.
What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
Receiving this money means I can finally transform my idle land into a productive farm. I plan to allocate KES 25,000 to clear the land, produce charcoal, and reinvest the proceeds into maize farming. Additionally, I have longed to purchase more land, and with KES 75,000 from my transfers, my dream will soon become a reality. I am overjoyed because I foresee a significant improvement in my life in the years to come.
