Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the great improvement I see within my home. This is in terms of the items I bought such as mattresses and blankets that have given descent beds to my family members; the consistent feeding that my family is receiving; and then seeing my house in a better state. Before getting money from GiveDirectly, I used to (still doing so) brew local alcohol to meet all the needs of my family.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money I felt so overwhelmed with joy as I had got money that would help me solve some issues in my home.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer Ugx 500000 to buy six bags of cement, one trip of sand, paying and feeding labor that helped me to plaster my house. I then bought livestock such as six chicken, and three goats at Ugx 360000. I also bought two mattresses, two blankets, clothing, all this totaling to Ugx 340000. I am using the balance of the money to cater for some day to day expenses such as medical issues, feeding among others.
