How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed in that, I am proud because I will soon start constructing a permanent house that I did not think I would own. Previously, I used to share with my parents in law one roof but different rooms which was very embarrassing and inconveniencing.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done well through giving unconditional cash transfer directly to the poor people like me that have enabled me to buy building materials ready to begin construction. I do not find things or areas where GiveDirectly needs to improve.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second cash transfer for making bricks, buying cement, timber, irons sheets and sand with intent to start construction work of a permanent house. I spent part of the money for feeding and UGX 80000 was spent on paying medical bills. The balance I intend to spend on paying for labour and meeting other building costs.
