How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My husband married two wives, my mate and I and we are beneficiaries of GiveDirectly program. We decided to build a new house for our children and we join as a team and we put about 75% of our transfers together to invest in our new house projects. Although our husband was not enrolled on GiveDirectly program but he is benefiting indirectly (through us)
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly has done extremely well for us. Had it not been GiveDirectly money, we would not have started our new house project. Many thanks to GiveDirectly for giving me the opportunity to benefit from this program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I bought about two hundred pieces of block, five bags of cement, and food for the house projects.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was sitting in front of my house early in the morning. My son had the phone and we all were expecting transfer from Givedirectly. I told my son to monitor my phone because the children usually play with my phone. My son later brought the phone and told me that he has received the alert from Givedirectly confirming my first payment. I was very happy.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I never had my son graduation fees neither had means of getting it from someone, but with Givedirectly transfer I was able to pay for his graduation fees which is extremely different from from the time I didn't receive the money.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was really concentrating on how to pay my son graduation fees. One of my sons will be graduating from high school and my worried has been how to raise money to facilitate his graduation. I received the money and settle my son graduation fees which was another stress released for me.
