How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
GiveDirectly changed my life in that I now have piped water at our doorstep. The money which I had received I spent on buying water pipes and pay for labour for installation and also pay for registration fees. I am so glad that now I have access to clean tap water in our compound. Before, I would spend approximately 4 hours to go and fetch water and come back home. On such a day, I couldn't do any other duty since it's tiresome. Now I can wake up do my house chores and go to the farm. Afterwards, I can do cleaning since we have water connected to our compound.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
According to me, GiveDirectly did very well by considering every household in our village. This was fair for everyone and that was a plus for GiveDirectly.
Sincerely speaking, I didn't see anything which was not done well.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have four of my children who are in school, two of which are in university and two who are in highschool and the biggest challenge for me as a parent is paying for thier school fees. When I received my second transfers I spent KES 30000 on paying for thier school fees. The remaining amount, I took KES 5000 on paying registration fees for water connection to our home. The remaining amount of KES 18000, I spent equally on buying food for my family and purchasing some clothes for my family members.

The biggest difference in my life is leaving peaceful life because I have paid fees and adequate food for my kids in campus before it was quite difficult to feed them before. I have also installed piped which has saved time for working in my farm and now we have access to drinking water and clothes are more clean than before because water from the dam which would stain clothes. My kids are very happy and grateful because they are clothes are more neat than before.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent KES 20000 on my sons university school fees because it came during school opening semester. KES 12000 on installation of piped water because the we normally experience long dry spell and the water dams are quite far from my home. I also spent KES 10, 000 on my family clothing because we used to rely on a one pair of clothing for occasions because all the money got were jet to school fees. I spent KES 2000 on five packets maize seeds because acquisition of maize seeds is quite difficult because I usually rely on my husband who does casual labor.
