In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, I appreciate the way you have used money as a source of support program .On the other hand I wouldn't want you to do things differently. I appreciate all that GiveDirectly has done to the community.

I have started chicken rearing business. My recent transfer was spent in buying 6 more chicken. I have 8 chicken in total and hoping to buy more as I continue getting this funds.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I received the funds, I felt a sense of independence and my wish of being employed came to pass as I was able to self-employ myself by purchasing 2 chickens to start poultry farming.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I used to be unemployed, but now with my new poultry business, there is a great difference in my life. I now am self-employed and when I will start making sales, I will no longer need to depend on my parents for financial support.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Before I started receiving the funds from give directly, I was unemployed and I depended on my parents for financial support. So when I received the funds, I saw it best to use it to self-employ myself by starting a poultry business. Therefore, from the ksh1200 I received, I used ksh1000 to buy two chickens and I bought sugar with the remaining amount. Through this, I believe I will be able to support myself financially.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Currently, I am unemployed and also do not have any formal education. Life has been tough because I depend on casual jobs for survival.
With this money, I desire to save 2,000KES every month and when I accumulate 10,000KES, my intention is to buy some chicken and goats for resale. With time, I will keep saving up more money towards buying two cows.
I have always desired to learn how to drive, therefore, I'll join a driving school and look for a driving job thereafter.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I have been so low emotionally and financially that I couldn't find joy in anything. I was always grateful for life but that was just about it.
When I heard about potentially getting financial aid from Give Directly, that brought some peace to my heart and I hope to make good use of this money.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I am finding it very difficult to get employment. Without formal education, it's even difficult to think about approaching any organization for work. I only managed to complete my primary school education. My parents could not afford to educate me any further but I don't blame them,its because they had no means.
I still desire to further my education and get meaningful employment, also run a couple of businesses.
