How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My first goal was to register my two grandchildren in school and through the help of GiveDirectly cash transfer, I was able to achieve that goal; my new goal is to improve my house because the roof has leakages and the rain season is already here. I have started the process already but still doing my best to complete it.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well by taking us out of hunger, I am an old woman who has struggled with my grandchildren for some years, sometimes there was no food to eat but through this program, things have changed for the better. I don't know anything that GiveDirectly is not doing well in this town.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my most recent transfer to buy zinc for my house, I bought rice and some foodstuffs for my family as well, and I am saving the balance to complete the fixing process of my house.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The previous house that I am living in roof is in a bad condition. I have also been sleeping on a very flat mattress and my grand children are not going to school. With the help of GiveDirectly, I was able to buy some roofing sheets to change the old sheets that are over the house to stop the leakages that are all over the roof. I was was also able to take some of the transfer to buy a mattress to change the old flat one that I been sleeping on. I am so happy right now because I can now see my grand children going back to school have better future and good jobs opportunities.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Had it not been GiveDirectly, I would have still be sleeping under a leaking roof and my grand children would not have been in school. With the help of GiveDirectly, so many poor people today have better houses to stay in and their lives have changed positively. In my opinion about what is not done well by GiveDirectly, I don't really think that there is anything that is not done well. I just want to be grateful to GiveDirectly for everything they have done for me and my family.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my transfer I felt so good. I have not seen that kind of money my entire life. I'm an old lady. For the past thirteen years my husband has been ill. The sickness caused his blindness. My children have been assisting us. Feeding us and catering to our daily needs. I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity. I was excited when I received my transfer. Hopefully after receiving all the transfers our living condition will improve.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
I'm grateful to God that I got enrolled in this cash program. I can now afford my own food. I don't have to depend on my children anymore. I sell my market and cater to my needs. Thankfully after receiving all the transfers our lives will improve for rhe next best.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Things have been difficult for my family. My husband has been sick for some yeats now. I was overjoyed when I received my transfer. I am so grateful that I got enrolled in this cash program. I used some of my transfer to buy mattress. I bought a bag of rice and other food items. I used rest of the transfers to pay my grand children tuition. I also used some of the money to start a new business. Profits generated from my little business will be used for my husband and myself upkeep.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I plan to sell my small small market with this money, because i really want to sell but I don't have money.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happy because GiveDirectly is in my town today and I believe that i will get the money to sell my small small market.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The hard time i'm facing now, is that my husband is seriously sick and I'm not going on the farm again, because I have to stay him to look after him; for that reason, we are depending on our children to always send us food.
