How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal has always been to start a new business. I have been making farms for a living. During harvest time, I take the products from my farm to local markets for sale. I use the money from that for my family upkeep and my children tuition. The money is hardly enough. I could hardly afford our expenses. Things started to get difficult for my family. Before the beginning of this school year, I was so worried. I did not have enough money for my children tuition and other fees. I am so grateful for this GiveDirectly cash program. My children are now in school and I have started my business. That is amazing. Our lives will never be the same again.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I am so grateful for this program. GiveDirectly has done very well for me. I have been suffering. My house roof was tarsh. During the rainy season, it leaks. Through the GiveDirectly program, I have built a new house and the roof is zinc. I am so grateful for this opportunity. My children are now in school. I have started a new business. I have no worries anymore. All thanks and appreciation to GiveDirectly for this opportunity. In my opinion it does not do anything wrongly. It has changed our lives for the best. I am grateful.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was overwhelmed when I received my payment. This cash program is a dream come true. I used some of my transfer to start a new business. I used the rest to pay a portion of my children tuition. Things were so difficult for my family. I could hardly afford our upkeep. The money I made of selling produce from my farm was not enough. I am so grateful that our lives will never be the same again.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Education is very sweet my sister but my parents didn't know first, so my plan is my husband and I will send our children to school when we receive the transfer.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The thing that has really brought joy in my life and the lives of my family was the first day I saw GD staffs on motor bike in group going to work in another village after hearing about them for so long while on my way to Cesto. The reason I was happy is that with all of the difficulties I and my family been facing, I knew with the presence of GD in our village our lives will get better because their known for helping poor people to improve their lifes.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest challenge face by my household presently is I am owning a susu/club NGO known as concern and I am due to pay in December first week. if I fail to pay by this time interest will be added to the initial amount I own three different time and if don't pay after the third interest I will be taken to higher authority, before doing that they will lock my door and if I fail to pay the money I will be send to jail. For this reason I have had sleepless night for some time now because it's the biggest challenge for that I have ever face.
