How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different because I am happy. I was able to buy a motocycle for my husband that is now helping to keep my family running as it is a source of income. In addition to the above, this motocycle will now help my community members in terms of transportation since it has always been a challenge. Prior to getting it, one had to always walk to hospital, market or town.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly has done well by giving me money that I use as I wish. It has no strings attached. There is nothing wrong that GiveDirectly has done.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent part of my second transfer to add up with the first transfer to buy a second hand motocycle. I then bought a cow. I also spent some money to buy clothes, and two mattresses.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life is that the giveDirectly cash transfer empowered me to purchase a motorcycle which is operating as a boda-boda. This motorcycle currently earns income for the household. In the past, I was operating a small local brewing business which had many health hazards besides not being profitable.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt very happy when I received this cash transfer. I had many business plans which I could not pursue due to lack of capital.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I topped all the first cash transfer of UGX 1700000 on my savings and purchased a motorcycle.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means simplifying farming. We shall buy oxen to use for animal traction. Tractors are very expensive and so we use oxen in place of tractors. We shall have enough and timely food production for the household.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is after lunch. When I have managed to provide for my family a meal, it's my joy to see them happy and playing or when I am now chatting with my spouse about tomorrow's program.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Inadequate food for the household is my main challenge. We do not have oxen to enable timely planting and enough food production for the family. Besides, we do not have enough land for crop cultivation hence insufficient food for the household.
