How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my life is that now am relieved from stress which I had before about getting money for paying school fees for my children. Again, I was able to prepare my land for planting on time. Before I used to struggle to get money for buying farm inputs which would lead to delayed planting hence poor harvesting.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give Directly did very well by giving money to every household. This has really helped several families to buy food and this has helped to improve the health of our children. To me, GD did everything perfectly as this transfer has helped to bring more families together.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
The second payment which I received from Give Directly, I spent KES 20000 to buy a dairy cow. I also spent KES 10000 to prepare land for farming and purchase farm inputs and KES 5000 to buy foodstuff. I am still remaining with KES18000 Which I intend to spend on building a better house.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The funds really helped me. I was almost losing my mind because I would even talk on my own because of lack of funds and the anxieties of life. Now my mind is stable and I am peaceful. People even tell me I look happier, younger and nicer because I am stress-free and dress better than before courtesy of Give Directly. Depression had made me to look old (I am in my 50's, born in 1963 but now I feel and look younger). We are now well fed and of good health. I never used to afford things such as bread and beef but now I can afford those and I am grateful for Give Directly funds.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so happy when I received the funds from Give Directly.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
Give Directly funds really helped me. I used 20000 KES fee for my daughter in college, 7000 KES for clothes, 5000 KES on a goat, a cow 17500 KES, maize meal 5000 KES and the balance on shopping for food and toiletries.
